What Should I Expect?
The worship environment at Resurrection is warm and welcoming. Whether you've been part of a church for years or are walking into worship for the first time, our goal is to make the service easy to follow and comfortable to participate in.
As you arrive, feel free to grab a cup of coffee from the Gathering Space and bring it with you into worship.
How Long Does Worship Last?
Worship typically lasts about one hour.
Will I Be Asked to Introduce Myself?
No. Visitors are not asked to stand up or introduce themselves during worship.
But we do hope members of the Resurrection family will introduce themselves to you, welcome you, and help you feel at home.

Can I Talk with the Pastor?
Yes. The pastor is usually available about 30 minutes before each worship service and is also generally available after worship.
If you have a question, would like to introduce yourself, or want to talk about Communion or anything else, you are always welcome to speak with him.
Easy to Follow
The entire worship service is displayed on two large screens at the front of the church, one on the left and one on the right. The service is also printed in a worship bulletin, so you can follow along in whatever way is most comfortable for you.
You don't need to know when to stand, what to say, or where to find something before you arrive. Everything you need for worship is provided for you.

What Is the Worship Style?
Our worship is liturgical, which means the service follows a thoughtful pattern of Scripture, prayer, singing, confession, forgiveness, and praise.
The liturgy is also shaped around the theme of the week and the larger theme of the month or season. The different parts of worship are chosen and arranged to help reinforce the message you are hearing from God's Word.
If liturgical worship is unfamiliar to you, don't worry. We try to explain what we are doing as we go so you can understand the purpose behind each part of the service and participate comfortably.
The goal is not simply to follow a form, but to let God's Word shape our worship and keep the focus on Jesus and the good news of his forgiveness.
A Clear Theme Each Week
Each worship service has a central theme that connects with the larger season of the church year.
The readings, songs, prayers, and message work together around that theme, helping you understand how each part of the service connects to God's Word and to your life.
Music That Helps You Participate
On the first Sunday of each month, a praise band and cantors help lead the congregation in song.
On the second Sunday of the month, our Sunday School children usually sing. At other times throughout the year, you may also hear small choirs, vocal groups, and instrumental music.
The goal is not to entertain or put on a performance. The music is there to help you participate in worship and to provide leadership when it is helpful.
That same goal shapes all of our worship at Resurrection: the focus is not on those leading from the front, but on helping God's people worship together.

Is the Building Accessible?
Yes. The Verona Campus is accessible.
Both main entrances have power-assisted doors, making it easier for guests using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids to enter the building.
Accessible parking is also available near the Ministry Wing entrance.
What About the Offering?
Offering baskets are located near the entrance to the worship space, and there is also a QR code available for electronic giving.
At Resurrection, offerings are a response of thanks to God for his grace. If you are visiting with us, please do not feel obligated to give.
During the service, the offerings are brought forward as a reminder that our gifts are given to the Lord in worship, not simply collected to pay the church's bills.
What About Communion?
Holy Communion is offered on the second, third, and fourth Sundays of each month.
If you are visiting with us, we kindly ask that you speak with the pastor before receiving Communion. He will be happy to talk with you, answer any questions, and explain our Communion practice.
What Happens After Worship?
Immediately following worship, you're welcome to spend time with us in the Gathering Space.
Coffee and snacks are provided each week, and it's a relaxed opportunity to meet people, visit, and get to know the Resurrection family a little better.
After that time of fellowship, anyone who is interested is welcome to stay for Bible Class or Sunday School. Both begin about 15 minutes after worship and continue until 11:15 AM.
Adults are welcome to join Bible Class, and children can participate in age-appropriate Sunday School classes.
Designed with Visitors in Mind
Our worship services are planned with both members and visitors in mind.
You don't need previous experience at Resurrection - or even much experience in a church - to understand what is happening. We want every person who worships with us to be able to follow the service, understand its purpose, and hear clearly about Jesus and the good news of his forgiveness.
What About My Kids?
Kids are an important part of the Resurrection family, and families are always welcome in worship. Our goal is to help children know that church is a place where they belong, where they are loved, and where they can continue growing in their faith in Jesus.
Can My Children Stay with Me During Worship?
Absolutely. We encourage families to worship together.
As soon as you come through the main doors, you'll see quiet bags available for children to use during the service. We also provide coloring sheets that connect with the theme of that day's worship.
These are there to help children stay engaged while still being part of worship with their family.
Will My Child Be Included in Worship?
Yes. We encourage families to worship together.
On the first Sunday of each month, we include a children's message as part of the worship service. Throughout the year, children also have opportunities to participate in other ways, including singing with Sunday School.
We also understand that children can get restless. That is one reason we created the quiet room, where families can step out for a little extra space while still seeing and hearing the worship service.

What If My Child Needs a Break?
We understand that sometimes kids need a little extra room.
A nursery and quiet room is available just off the Gathering Space. It has a window looking directly into the worship space, and the service audio is played through speakers in the room, so you can still see and hear worship while giving your child a little more space.
There are also preschool-style classrooms available if your child needs a little more room to move around or play.
What Facilities Are Available for Young Children?
Changing tables are available in the restrooms and in the Ministry Wing.
We also have a child-friendly restroom with a children's-size toilet and a standard adult toilet in the same room, making it easier for parents to help younger children.
Is There Sunday School?
Yes. Sunday School begins about 15 minutes after the Sunday worship service and continues until 11:15 AM.
Sunday School is available for children who are 3 years old and potty trained through 6th grade.
If your child is not yet potty trained but you would still like them to attend, please speak with Mrs. Kaye McGrath, the Sunday School teacher in our Pre-K-Kindergarten room. She will be happy to talk through what would work best for your child.
Who Will Be with My Child?
Each Sunday School classroom has a teacher, with an assistant helping as needed.
Parents are welcome to choose what works best for their family during Sunday School. You may sit in the Teen Room, spend time visiting in the Gathering Space, or attend the adult Bible Class.
If your child would feel more comfortable with you nearby at first, that is perfectly fine. Our goal is to help both children and parents feel comfortable as they get to know Resurrection.
What Should We Do If It's Our First Sunday?
When you arrive, make yourself at home. Grab a cup of coffee, find a place where your family feels comfortable in worship, and take things at your own pace.
If you would like a tour of the building, one of our Resurrection members would be happy to show you around and help you find the worship space, Sunday School rooms, restrooms, quiet room, or anything else you may need.
As a first-time visitor, you may be given a Connect Card or invited to sign our guest book. You are welcome to do so, but there is no obligation.
Please do what feels comfortable for you. We would love the opportunity to get to know you, but we never want you to feel pressured.
What If My Child Needs Extra Support?
If your child has specific needs or would benefit from extra support, please talk with us. We would be glad to learn how we can help your family feel comfortable and participate as fully as possible.
A Word of Encouragement for Parents
On those Sundays when you feel like you spent most of the service caring for your little one, remember this: God is still at work. Through the power of his Word, he is working in your heart and in your child's heart too.
Your child is not simply attending church with you - your child is part of the Resurrection family too.
Meet the Verona Team
You do not have to know anyone before you walk through the doors. Our pastors, vicar, and ministry staff are here to serve you and would be glad to answer questions, pray with you, or simply help you know where to go.
