Westside Christian School

About Westside

Westside Christian School is a ministry of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, offering a high-quality Christian education for children in preschool through grade 8. Our mission is to prepare students for academic success and lives of Christian service through a curriculum and total school program founded on the Word of God.

Our history

In the mid-1990s, the members of St. Andrew began to expand their ministries to include a school offering high-quality Christian education to children and their families. After several years of exploration, planning, and development, Westside Christian School opened its doors in 2001. The WELS has operated elementary schools for over 150 years and has one of the largest private/parochial school systems in America.

Accreditation

In 2005, Westside Christian School earned accreditation by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod School Accreditation (WELSSA), a member of the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA). In 2012 we also earned accreditation from the Wisconsin Religious and Independent Schools Accreditation (WRISA). We re-accredit every five years — an ongoing cycle of examining our practices and strengthening our ministry.
